Kanye West Dances To The Weeknd During MTV VMA Performance; Watch The Video
Kanye West has a history of stealing the mic from other artists at the MTV Video Music Awards, literally. However, the Grammy-winning rapper seemed happy to let The Weeknd have the stage at the 2015 VMAs. In fact, West was even spotted dancing in the crowd to The Weeknd's performance of his hit song, "Can't Feel My Face."
West, who attended the awards with wife Kim Kardashian, got his groove on when The Weeknd took the stage in Los Angeles for a highly anticipated performance. For some fans, Kanye was more entertaining that the actual performance as he awkwardly danced in a sea of people. West's moves were captured by a few viewers on Twitter and can be seen below:
While Kanye was a happy camper during The Weeknd's set, he was not so thrilled at other points in the night. Deadspin editor Timothy Burke tweeted a photo that he said was West's reaction to Macklemore's outdoor performance of his new song "Downtown." West did not seem nearly as impressed.
West also stood up in his seat when Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" beat out Beyonce's "7/11" video for Best Female Video. Luckily, West sat down and did not repeat his infamous mic-stealing stunt with Swift from the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
West is scheduled to accept the Video Vanguard award and perform later in the broadcast. The MTV Video Music Awards began at 9 p.m. EDT Sunday on MTV.
