Kanye West Disses Kris Jenner, Gushes About Kim Kardashian In W Magazine Interview

Before North West was born, Kanye West decided to sit down for an interview with W magazine to talk about his music and his love for Kim Kardashian. But when Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian’s mother, stopped by to greet the 36-year-old rapper, the world got a glimpse of what their mother-in-law-esque relationship is like.

The “Awesome” rapper and reality star have been dating for a little over a year, and there’s been plenty of rumors that claim the Kardashian family doesn’t get along well with West, Jenner specifically. W magazine unfolded an awkward moment between the two when she stopped by his Parisian pad to check it out for the first time.

“Kris Jenner drops by and looks around the apartment, which she’s seeing for the first time. ‘This is amazing!’” But according to the W magazine reporter, Jenner’s rapport with the is “equal parts jokey affection and in-law awkwardness.”

West reportedly played a few unfinished songs for her, including “Awesome,” which is supposedly about her daughter. She told him “Great job!” but the rapper wasn’t flattered by the compliment and responded to her praise with a strange response. His reply is posted as a clip from W magazine below:

“'Great job, Baccarat, for making a glass that can hold liquid!’ He looks down at his waist. 'Great job, belt loops, for keeping my pants up!' Jenner laughs off the mockery but soon is ready to leave. Hugging West goodbye, she tells him, ‘I love you. You know where to find us, at the George V. Call us tomorrow, if you want.’ It seems apparent to everyone, including Jenner, that West will not call.”

Despite his seemingly strained relationship with the matriarch of the Kardashian family, West explained that his girlfriend’s much talked-about fashion risks are a testament to their love. "One beautiful thing is that as she discovers it, the world discovers it. For her to take that risk in front of the world, it just shows you how much she loves me."

The couple waited nearly a week before they announced the much-speculated name of their daughter. They ultimately decided on North to the surprise of many fans who expected Kardashian to stick with the K moniker tradition.
