Kanye West May Be Adding 'American Idol' Judge To His Resume
Shortly after reports that rapper Nicki Minaj may be joining the judging panel on the hit talent competition, "American Idol," sources are saying that rapper Kanye West may become a judge on the show as well.
According to TMZ, West is negotiating with producers to become an "American Idol" judge after producers on the show reached out to West and he expressed interest, a source told the site. Apparently, he is unsure at the time as to whether or not he will actually end up fill one of the judging spots.
Hopefully singer Mariah Carey, who is making $18 million for being a judge on the upcoming season, will not have an issue with the 'G.O.O.D.' rapper. Earlier, it was reported that she is upset that Minaj may be a judge on the show. She allegedly was furious because she thought she would be the only female judge on "American Idol," sources told TMZ.
Former judges, rocker Steven Tyler and singer Jennifer Lopez, were with "Idol" for two seasons before recently departing from the show.
"I think she'll enjoy it, is what I can say. I did" Lopez replied when asked by "Extra" correspondent Terri Seymour how she thinks Carey will like being an "Idol" judge.
If West does not agree to be a judge, the producers of "American Idol" may be able to convince hip hop producer and entrepreneur P.Diddy to join the show. When asked by TMZ if he would be a judge, he replied, "I love American Idol." He would not, however, disclose how much it would cost for him to join the panel.
Meanwhile, West is in Hawaii with girlfriend Kim Kardashian, working on his upcoming album.
