Kanye West has admitted to his mistakes that put a strain on his marriage to ex-wife Kim Kardashian, according to a report.
The 44-year-old rapper is said to be remorseful about the pain he caused the 40-year-old reality star, a source close to him exclusively told People Thursday.
“There were things that happened in their marriage that Kanye regrets. He wasn't always the best husband,” the source was quoted as saying by the outlet.
The source went on to say that West is certain that he will always love the mother of his four children — North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
“He knows that he hurt Kim. He will always love her though,” the source added.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star previously filed for divorce from the “Gold Digger” hitmaker in February. And even though Kardashian has been showing her support to West following the release of his new album “Donda,” she remains firm on their marital split.
However, the source told the entertainment news outlet that West is still hopeful that the SKIMS founder would “change her mind about their divorce.”
The news comes a day after several reports said that West confirmed his infidelity during their marriage in his new song “Hurricane” from his 10th studio album.
“The song is in a way his testimony of everything he did wrong and taking accountability for their marriage breakdown,” an insider told Page Six.
The insider added that looking closely at the lyrics of the track, it’s easy to see that he’s admitting that he cheated on his estranged wife even after having their first two kids.
“Here I go actin’ too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playin’ after two kids / It’s a lot to digest when your life always movin’,” a part of the song’s lyrics read.
West has not addressed the latest reports about him and Kardashian as he is now more focused on his music career.
In his recent interview with German tabloid Bild, West said that he intends to make more music because that’s what God wants him to do.
“God put me on this earth to make music. God put Demna here to design. God put Tadao Ando here to create architecture. God gifted us Turrell. God all sent us here for a certain reason and I have to make music,” West was quoted as saying by Complex, per translations.
