Kanye West is still alive despite losing billions of money.
The "Donda" artist did not deny that he lost a huge amount of money following Adidas' decision to cut ties with him. West returned to Instagram after weeks of hiatus and seemingly gave an update about the recent events in his life. He also insisted his post was a "love speech" after several called him out for his anti-Semitic remarks and hate speech.
"I LOST 2 BILLION DOLLARS IN ONE DAY AND I'M STILL ALIVE," West, who now goes by Ye, wrote. "THIS IS LOVE SPEECH. I STILL LOVE YOU. GOD STILL LOVES YOU. THE MONEY IS NOT WHO I AM. THE PEOPLE IS WHO I AM."
Before his post on Instagram, West's net worth reportedly plunged by $1.5 billion after Adidas decided to part ways with him. His partnership with the German company was valued at $1.5 billion.
Forbes previously put his net worth at around $2 billion and currently estimates it to be at $400 million. The estimated $1.5 billion deal with Adidas is based on a multiple of the partnership's annual earnings.
Adidas is also expected to face a "short-term negative impact" worth $248.8 million on its net income this year due to its decision to terminate its contract with West.
"Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye's recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they violate the company's values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness," Adidas said in a statement released Tuesday.
It continued, "After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products, and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect."
The day after Adidas terminated its partnership with West, the "Gold Digger" rapper visited the Skechers headquarters in Manhattan Beach, California, unannounced. But he got escorted by two executives after a brief conversation. Skechers clarified that it "is not considering and has no intention of working with West."
At his and Kim Kardashian's daughter North's basketball game, West denied losing money after Balenciaga quit working with him. The rapper and designer even said it was a "freeing" experience being let go.
"I ain't losing no money," he told TMZ, shrugging. "The day I was taken off the Balenciaga site, that was one of the most freeing days."
He also refused to get canceled, saying, "We here, baby, we ain't going nowhere."
