Kanye West On 'Saturday Night Live': Rapper Doesn't Want Jokes About Kim Kardashian's Pregnancy Weight On 'SNL'
Hip-hop mogul Kanye West is going to appear on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” but only on one condition: no wisecracks about the mother of his unborn child, Kim Kardashian.
The 35-year-old rapper is set to be the musical guest on an episode of the sketch-comedy program that will be hosted by Ben Affleck, but the show will have to forgo one of its prominent skits about West and baby-mama Kardashian for that episode.
An NBC source told Radar Online, “Kanye as musical guest is a great get for 'SNL,' but of course the writers want to push the envelope and take advantage of it with a Kim Kardashian skit.”
The source continued: “That’s not unusual since her famous family has been spoofed before with some very hilarious and spot-on impersonations of a whining Kim. They have to tread lightly because Kanye hasn’t been happy with all the flack Kim’s been getting about her pregnancy weight gain.”
Numerous media outlets have criticized the way the reality-television personality’s body has changed since she’s become pregnant.
The insider added: “It’s definitely going to be a challenge: The writers don’t want to p--- off Kanye so they’re prepared not to cross the line, but they will go as far as they can. They’ve come up with a win-win scenario where Kim actually gets a cameo at the end of the skit. That would probably make everyone in Kanye’s camp -- and especially Kim -- very happy.”
It hasn’t been announced who will be portraying Kardashian in the episode, but comedian Nasim Pedrad is normally given the role.
West and award-winning “Argo” director Affleck will appear on “SNL” May 18 at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
