Kanye West has shared something on Twitter, which baffled some netizens. West uploaded a birthday greeting from the basketball superstar, Dennis Rodman.
West, early Wednesday, shared a short clip of the former Chicago Bulls power forward greeting him on his birthday. The 43-year-old rapper, in his post, praised Rodman and called him one of his heroes.
“Blessings from one of my heroes,” West tweeted. “The incredible alien level Dennis Rodman!”
Rodman’s short video commending West for his achievements and greeting him happy birthday has gained around 1.6 million views since it was uploaded. Although Rodman talked fast, some netizens noticed the greeting which caused a bit of confusion because it’s been more than a month since West’s birthday.
West, through another social media platform, shared a picture of him and Rodman. West captioned his Instagram post with “Dennis Rodman [emoji goat].”
Scouring the internet for information, it was revealed that the snap West shared on the same day the video clip was uploaded on Twitter was a photograph taken back in 2018. Rodman held the book “Aiming High” in the photo.
The snap was taken during West and Rodman’s meeting in Chicago and the book Rodman held was Darren Prince’s memoir. The reason for Rodman and West’s meet up, at that time, was not clear, The Blast previously reported.
The photo surfaced amid West’s controversial presidential candidacy; hence, the intention behind the post was placed under the scrutiny by several netizens.
West announced earlier this month that he would be running for president. Recently, a national poll revealed that the rapper only has 2% of voters vouching for him in the upcoming election, Metro UK reported.
Steve Kramer, who runs a firm that helps candidates get on the ballot, told the Intelligencer that West’s campaign had 180 personnel. Also, Kramer reportedly said that West was out.
Kramer’s opinion about West’s candidacy was neutral. He also said that everyone has their personal decision on why such decisions were made.
He reportedly said that the staff who were hired for West’s candidacy were disappointed, not only because they would lose the job but they were excited about West’s campaign.
