- There were always two parties planned for the child's 4th birthday before West crashed Kim Kardashian's bash, a report says
- West previously claimed that Kardashian refused to invite him to the party she threw for their toddler
Kanye West threw his own party for daughter Chicago on the same day Kim Kardashian held a bash for the toddler's 4th birthday.
On Saturday, the 44-year-old rapper, who now goes by Ye, accused his estranged wife of not inviting him to the party she threw for Chicago but was later seen at the gathering via videos posted on social media. An unnamed source close to the former couple told Page Six that there were always two parties planned for their youngest daughter's birthday before West crashed Kardashian's bash.
"He was always having his own party for Chicago. He had it at 4 p.m. at his office downtown [in Los Angeles] that he planned, so it's so frustrating he crashed Kim’s party and created this narrative that he wasn't invited," the source said.
Earlier that day, West went live on Instagram and claimed that Kardashian and her family would not tell him where the location of the party was. He said in the video that he was concerned his absence would "imprint in [Chicago's] mind that I wasn't there for her."
However, a video shared on Instagram Story by Atiana De La Hoya, Travis Barker's daughter, confirmed that the Grammy winner did make it to Chicago's bash. The clip briefly showed West at the outdoor get-together speaking to Kris Jenner.
West later claimed in a video shared by Hollywood Unlocked that it was Travis Scott who gave him the details of the party and that Kylie Jenner provided him access.
"I'm so happy right now, I just came from Chi's party," he said while driving in the clip. "I just gotta shout out to Travis Scott for sending me the address and the time and making sure that I was able to spend that birthday memory with my daughter."
He added, "I just saw everybody. It was Kris [Jenner] and Corey [Gamble] and Kylie. Kylie let me in, right when I got to the spot, 'cause security stopped me once again when I got there."
The "Gold Digger" rapper added that "everyone had a great time" and that he was just "happy to be there." West also said that his life centers around his children.
However, an unnamed source told Us Weekly that Kardashian was shocked by West's claims that he wasn't allowed to attend his daughter's bash because it was reportedly the rapper's idea to hold two parties for Chicago that day.
"There were always two parties planned for Chicago, which was Kanye's idea. He was scheduled to celebrate with her at 4 p.m. today," the insider said, adding that "as soon as [Kanye] asked to come, he was given the location. He's at the birthday party."
The plan was that Kardashian would throw a party at 12 p.m., while West's would start at 4 p.m., Page Six reported, citing unnamed insiders. West "took the kids from the noon party to his," a family source told the outlet.
Another insider told the outlet that Kardashian "has never gotten in the way of allowing him to see his kids and makes every effort to give him full access to them." The reality star makes sure to invite and include West for every event involving their children, according to the anonymous source.
Kardashian and West, who split last year after nearly seven years of marriage, also share daughter North, 8, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2. Their divorce is ongoing.
