Kat Von D And Deadmau5 Split: Deejay Speaks Out After Breakup
Deadmau5 is speaking out after his former girlfriend Kat Von D essentially slammed him on Twitter. The tattoo artist took to her social media account to announce her relationship with the the electronic-music producer/deejay has ended and insinuated that he cheated on her. Though Deadmau5 said that he hooked up with another lady, he claimed it happened when the on-again, off-again couple took a break.
Deadmau5 went to Facebook, his social media platform of choice, to explain his side of the story to his fans: "Kat and I split in November and I moved back home to Toronto. During this time, while we were broken up, I did have relations with another woman," he wrote. "Following that, Kat and I reconciled and I acknowledged being intimate with another person while we were estranged."
"We did move past those issues, and I proposed to Kat in mid-December," Deadmau5 continued. "At the end of June, it was clear that the relationship was not working and we mutually ended the engagement. I was not, at any point, unfaithful to Kat during our time together."
“I don't wish to go tit for tat with these kinds of pronouncements and don't expect to comment further, but I do believe that those who have expressed concern deserve a more complete understanding of what transpired,” the deejay added.
On Wednesday the “LA Ink” tattoo artist wrote: “Man, I’m a fool,” before elaborating: "Cheating on your loved one is the most hurtful thing one could do. I hate to have to admit that this relationship is indeed over ... Onwards and upwards."
A day after announcing her relationship with the musician was over, Von D seemed to be looking at the brighter side of things: “There are far too many good examples of kind and honest people in life to waste energy on bad ones. My apologies for losing sight of that.”
Von D has been relatively unlucky in love. She had a failed marriage to fellow tattoo artist Oliver Peck from 2004-2007 and was Jesse James’ mistress while he was still married to Oscar winner Sandra Bullock.
