Kate Beckinsale Dating 21-Year-Old Matt Rife; Couple Caught Kissing On Camera

Kate Beckinsale is joining the cougar town.

Beckinsale, 43, is reportedly currently dating hunky 21-year-old Matt Rife. On Tuesday, the couple was photographed sharing a passionate kiss in West Hollywood. Following the release of the snaps, a source revealed to Entertainment Tonight that they are “officially boyfriend and girlfriend.”

Beckinsale and Rife apparently met through a common friend and clicked immediately when they started talking. “They quickly started flirting, went on their first date and it’s continued since,” the insider said.

The source added that Beckinsale’s friends and family approve of Rife because despite being much younger than her, he appears to be mature for his age. “Everyone in Kate’s circle loves Matt and are so supportive of this relationship. He really is the sweetest guy and makes her so happy! Her entire family thinks he is the nicest and most lovely person,” explained the source. “He is very mature for his age and is a great guy.”

Rife, who is 22 years younger than the “Love and Friendship” star, is an aspiring TV personality. He is a comedian and has performed in comedy clubs such as The Laugh Factory in Hollywood. As such, Beckinsale is a big fan of stand-up comedy. In fact, she is occasionally spotted at comedy clubs with ex Michael Sheen where they watch his girlfriend Sarah Silverman perform, E! News reported.

Meanwhile, Rife previously opened up about why he chose his current professional path. He shared that Dane Cook inspired his comedy. “Seventh grade is when I realized I wanted to be a comedian,” he said in an interview with Thisis50 back in 2015. “I was watching Comedy Central and Dane Cook came on and I became a fan like, instantly and literally the next day, my teacher asked me if I wanted to be in a talent show.”

As per the report, Beckinsale is two years older than Rife’s mom, but he recently made it clear that he does not mind at all. On Tuesday, Rife playfully posted a now-deleted cryptic message on Instagram that reads, “Age is just a number Find someone you love, and take their breath away...even if that means putting a kink in their oxygen tank cord. #LifeAlertTypeOfLove.”

Beckinsale and Rife’s romance comes several months after Len Wiseman filed for divorce from the “Pearl Harbor” star. They were married for 12 years before separating. Beckinsale and Wiseman have no children, but she shares an 18-year-old daughter with ex Sheen.
