Kate Hudson’s 34th Star-Studded Surprise Birthday Bash

Kate Hudson’s wishes of having a low-key 34th birthday celebration didn’t exactly happen, but the Hollywood A-list actress still had a great time when her fiancé, Matthew Bellamy, threw Hudson a surprise secret bash in New York City’s West Village.

Guests on Sunday included Cameron Diaz, Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann.

The night before her actual birthday, April 19, Hudson told Us Weekly, “I just want to hang with my family,” while attending the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball.

Despite not getting her low-key get together, a source told Us Weekly that Hudson was “totally surprised” and that “Kate loves to dance and she was just really happy talking to everyone.”

The party, which was held at a friend’s apartment, started outside until it got cold when everyone moved inside to dance, one of the recurring Glee guest star’s favorite activities.

“She looked beautiful and beaming in a tight metallic dress,” said one of Us Weekly’s sources.

Hudson, the mother of two, Ryder, 9, and Bingham, 21 months, spent her actual birthday watching Bellamy perform with his band Muse at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

“They’re very supported of each other’s careers,” an insider told the celebrity news magazine. “They’re so happy together.”
