Kate Middleton has been accused of being rude and disrespectful to Queen Letizia.

A number of netizens are reportedly wondering about the Duchess of Cambridge’s treatment toward Queen Letizia. The two royals have reunited for the Order of the Garter on Monday. However, their meeting triggered social media users to suspect that there’s tension between them.

A video clip shared on Twitter featured Middleton’s arrival. The Duchess of Cambridge went out of the vehicle without acknowledging Queen Letizia and this irked some of the netizens.

Many were looking forward to seeing Middleton’s curtsy to Queen Letizia, but the duchess failed them. One stressed that Middleton should have done it because she’s only a duchess.

“What did Letizia ever done to Kate? Last time they visited she did the same, ignored her at the State Dinner and put on a grumpy face all night. She was rude not to curtsy,” one netizen commented.

“Why does she always give Leticia the cold shoulder? This is a woman who stood on her own two feet was accomplished before becoming royal,” a different user added before accusing Prince William’s wife of being jealous because she reportedly did the same at a state dinner.

A different user said that Queen Letizia didn’t do anything and concluded that it was Middleton who was being “disrespectful.”

“This is the real Kate of Cambridge. Disrespectful, rude, and wrong,” another user wrote.

However, some of the users defended Middleton. One said that they probably met already because the Spanish queen was seen giving a nod to Middleton.

Meanwhile, body language Judi James has a different explanation. According to her, this could be due to Middleton’s physical condition at the time.

“A clue that all might not be as it seems in terms of any hints of slight awkwardness might come from the fact that Kate appears to dislike carriage rides because they cause her motion sickness,” James explained.

The expert pointed out that Middleton’s body language was showing tension during the Trooping the Colour parade and it could be the same problem during her meeting with Queen Letizia.

Also, while it’s true that Queen Letizia and Middleton didn’t show any sisterly rapport, they actually showed some commonality at the event. In fact, they have the “most mirrored body language signals” which suggests that they share the same thinking in terms of royal appearances.
