Kate Middleton borrowed another item from Queen Elizabeth II’s vault.

This past Sunday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles and more members of the royal family for the annual Remembrance Sunday on Cenotaph. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Middleton borrowed Queen Elizabeth II’s jewelry for the event.

Middleton was spotted wearing pearl earrings over the weekend. The duchess reportedly borrowed two sets of pearl earrings from the Queen’s vault.

The Duchess of Cambridge donned the Queen’s pearl and diamond studs when she showed up at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday. The following morning, the future queen consort sported Queen Elizabeth II’s Bahrain pearl drop earrings for Remembrance Sunday.

According to Emily Hodgkin, Middleton always wears a pair of pearl earrings every Remembrance Day to pay tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. It is given for women to wear black outfits and hats for the event, but Princess Diana had always matched her ensemble with pearl earrings, a fashion trend that Middleton has been following since she joined the royal family.

In 2018, Middleton wore the Oscar de la Renta Pearl Sun Star button earrings, which were very similar to what the People’s Princess owned. In the previous year, she wore another pair of pearl earrings.

Middleton is fond of the Queen’s jewelry collection. She has been seen using various items from the monarch’s vault over the years. In 2017, the Duchess of Cambridge wore the Queen’s diamond and pearl choker to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary.

The four-strand pearl choker with a central diamond had been worn by Queen Elizabeth II during the 1980s and 1990s, and by Princess Diana in 182 during a state banquet in the Netherlands.

Unlike Middleton, her sister-in-law Meghan Markle doesn’t borrow any item from the Queen’s collection aside from the tiara she wore on her big day. According to experts, Middleton’s taste in jewelry is traditional so the Queen’s collection is appealing to her.
