Kate Middleton Breaks Several Royal Rules During Official Return After Maternity Leave
Kate Middleton has broken a number of royal rules during her official return.
On Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge returned to her royal duties. But it seems Middleton has broken several royal rules during her recent engagement that Meghan Markle also did in the past. Here's a list of what Middleton did to bend the royal protocol.
Hugging Children
The British royal family members are advised to avoid being very physical in public. But the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex have been photographed embracing people in public. During her recent outing, Middleton did it again.
Middleton was welcomed by a group of young students aged between 4 and 5 upon her arrival at St. Augustine's CE Primary School in Kilburn, London. Two girls were not able to hold their joy after seeing a real princess and hugged Middleton. The royal mom of three warmed up and returned the embrace as seen in the photos shared by Harper's Bazaar.
This isn't the first time Middleton has hugged kids. Back in January, the duchess also embraced the children she played with when she visited Bond Primary School in Mitcham.
Wearing Pants
A number criticized Markle for opting to wear pants to most of her royal engagements. Middleton usually wears dresses when she's in an official engagement. However, in her recent outing, Prince William's wife opted to rock pants and paired it with her favorite boots.
It's also not new for Middleton to wear pants. She has been photographed wearing one in various engagement in the past.
Shutting Car Door
In a clip shared by The Sun, Middleton tried to shut her own car door. When the royal's car arrived, a man went down and opened up the car for Middleton. The duchess, stepped out and pushed the door back.
Last week, the public went frenzy after Meghan Markle shut her car door. But, the Duchess of Sussex was not actually the first one to do it because Middleton has been doing it over the years. In fact, she closed her car's door while carrying Princess Charlotte in 2016.
