Kate Middleton was recently likened to first lady Melania Trump after a video of her seemingly shrugging Prince William off made headlines.

On “The Wendy Williams Show,” host Wendy Williams called the Duchess of Cambridge boring. She also said that the way Middleton shrugged Prince William off is similar to how the FLOTUS shrugged off President Donald Trump in public.

Williams also accused the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge of being pushed together just like other couples. And she also said that they are allowed to show public displays of affection.

On the contrary, the host called Prince William and Meghan Markle a genuine couple because they are affectionate towards each other, and they are obviously in love.

“Normally when someone touches you, you lean into them or touch them back. Clap if you think that was a shrug off. OK. They are boring to me,” she said.

Some supporters of Prince William and Middleton quickly came to the royal couple’s defense. One of them corrected the host by saying that the royal couple wasn’t pushed together because they met at university.

Other royal fans also called Williams mean and vicious. And some of them also urged her to keep her mouth shut.

Meanwhile, Williams isn’t the only person who criticized Prince William and Middleton this week. “Loose Women” star Saira Khan criticized the royal couple’s appearance on BBC’s Christmas special with television cook Mary Berry.

Khan said that she doesn’t think everyone buys into the royal couple’s image of the perfect prince and princess. She also said that if members of the royal family will star in a documentary, it should be focused on their charity work.

“Loose Women” panelist Carol McGiffen defended the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge by saying that the charities featured in the Christmas special are organizations that they have been working with for years.

However, Khan still insisted that Prince William and Middleton should engage in more charity work.
