Kate Middleton to Donate $1.57 Million Raised from Wedding Dress Exhibition to Charity
The newly married Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly decided to donate around $1.57 million to charities that they will choose to be associated with.
This staggering benefit has been raised from the Buckingham Palace's annual summer exhibition where Kate's famous Alexander McQueen wedding gown was displayed.
The display was to help visitors get a closer look at the gown to relive and remind them of the royal wedding.
Though there were other royal displays at the exhibition, the bridal gown is believed to be the main attraction of the event. In fact, this dress that captivated billions across the world is said to be the prime cause that attracted more than 600000 people during the exhibition.
According to the Telegraph UK, a royal spokesman informed that the formal announcement of the donation amount will be made only next summer. Apart from charities, a major part of the money raised during the exhibition will also be used to maintain the thousands of paintings and other treasures at the Royal palaces.
