Kate Middleton rarely wears a tiara, but royal watchers believe the Duchess of Cambridge may make an appearance in one in the near future.

According to Hola, fans of the British royal family expect that Kate will be "in full royal mode complete with a tiara" at Her Majesty's Diplomatic Reception. The lavish event, which is held at Buckingham Palace, is slated to be held on the evening of Dec. 11.

The belief that the Duchess will wear one to this specific event is partially due to what she was seen wearing at the 2018 outing. Last year, she wore an embellished white Jenny Packham gown and Princess Diana's favorite tiara, the Cambridge Lover's Knot.

Additionally, an invitee shared the invitation to this year's reception on social media, which stated that the dress code was "evening dress - white tie or national dress" and "full ceremonial evening dress for serving officers."

The royal fashion choices of both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have long been the source of fascination for fans. Earlier this year, both of the duchesses opted to wear a similar color while on their royal tours, which reportedly was a "strategic" choice. Royal followers also noted that during Remembrance Day events this year, they each wore unique poppies that sent different messages.

If Kate does in fact wear a tiara as many anticipate, this would only mark the tenth time that Kate has officially worn once since marrying Prince William on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London.
