Kate Middleton faced an awkward encounter during her tour with Prince William.

On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge kicked off their Pakistan tour. Prince William and Middleton were praised at the evening reception because the royal couple looked great.

Prior to the evening reception, Prince William and Middleton stepped out of a Land Rover in Islamabad, on their first official day of royal tour. Middleton donned a glamorous traditional blue kurta and scarf by Maheen Khan, Daily Mail reported.

Middleton appeared amused with the soldier that she forgot to follow the royal protocol. The royal mother of three extended her arm for a handshake, but the soldier continued his salute. Middleton awkwardly waits until the soldier realized his mistake and immediately responded to the duchess.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s trip to Pakistan is deemed the most complex tour for the royal couple. According to Richard Fitzwilliams, there were possibilities that the tour would be canceled if the officers would not be satisfied with the security preparations. Apparently, the royal couple got a go signal because they are now in Pakistan.

In related news, Prince William was criticized for not helping Middleton. The netizens were disappointed that the duke did not open the car’s door for his wife. They felt that the future king was not a gentleman.

Meanwhile, Middleton was forced to snub an important milestone due to the tour. Middleton’s nephew, Arthur, turned one without the duchess. Arthur is the son of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews. Even if Middleton was away, her kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were expected to join their cousin after school for a special family gathering.

Giving Arthur a grand birthday bash would be easy for the Middletons because the family owns Party Pieces. Also, Archie’s parents and Middleton were involved in the business.

“Catherine started the First Birthday brand – she chose the products and looked after all the imagery and the catalogue production,” Carole said about Middleton’s involvement in their business.

“Pippa set up the blog, as we didn’t have one. James came up with the idea of personalised cakes and got them off the ground for us.”
