Kate Middleton Has A Genius Trick To Keep Shoes, Tights From Slipping
Kate Middleton discovered a genius trick to avoid her shoes and tights from slipping whenever she is out in public.
The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly wears John Lewis tights that have built-in sticky pads to prevent her from sliding and slipping. The stockings come in three different shades, namely, black, nude, and tan. And it only costs $7.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, it is possible that Middleton shared the hack to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle since all female royals are required to wear tights or stockings during public engagements.
Victoria Arbiter, a royal correspondent, previously said, “You never see a royal without their nude stockings. Meghan, from what I can see from the engagement photographs, it doesn’t look like she was wearing tights or stockings. I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires.”
Kelly Lynch, a royal expert, seconded Arbiter’s statement.
“Generally speaking, the Queen is pretty progressive, but she does require all women in the family to wear pantyhose if they choose to wear dresses or skirts. The real reason is, Her Majesty considers it ladylike, proper, and appropriate and it’s one rule she won’t budge on, regardless of temperature,” Lynch said.
But days after the royal wedding, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed wearing stockings. However, she was still criticized because the shade of her tights appeared to be much lighter than her skin tone.
One royal fan tweeted, “If you could find both Meghan and my tights in the correct shade, that would end a 30-year search for me. Or perhaps implore a designer to remember us, biracial ladies.”
Another person wrote, “Why can’t her stylist actually find the right skin color tights for her? Those tights are pale for her.”
“Hopefully the tights will only appear on the most formal occasions and be the right color,” a third commenter tweeted.
