Kate Middleton Makes This ’Safe Bet’ Style Her Wardrobe Staple [PHOTO]
Kate Middleton’s wardrobe staple includes polo necks.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been seen wearing polo necks when attending royal engagements. On Thursday, Middleton stepped out in a purple scalloped polo neck from Warehouse when she visited the Natural History Museum. According to Daily Mail, Middleton stepped out in the cool and comfortable top seven times already this year.
Stylist Susie Hasler suggested that the top is flattering for Middleton’s slender figure as it balances her outfit. It also allows her to be hands-on during her engagements without fear of any wardrobe mishap. Polo necks are versatile necklines as you could match it with different outfits.
“The beauty of a polo neck is that you can wear it in lots of different ways - you can wear it tucked into culottes, a pair of jeans for a casual look, or you can also layer it under a pinafore dress or dungarees,” Hasler said.
“It works as a really chunky layer, so if you don’t like wearing big chunky cardigans, laying a roll neck underneath is more comfortable.”
Hasler said that polo necks have become a staple to Middleton’s wardrobe. She also described this outfit a “safe bet” because it’s unlikely for one to suffer any fashion faux pas when wearing it. In addition, she believes that the style complements Middleton’s ways.
“It works well for Kate as it’s conservative,” Hasler added. “She wouldn’t be able to wear a V or scoop neck when she’s bending down talking to children. It’s a very modest piece of clothing to wear.”
Hasler also find polo necks “really sensible” before adding that “it’s practical and teamed with the right outfit it can look elegant.”
In related news, Middleton’s fashion has three distinct differences from her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Cambridge is fond of wearing bold colors like Queen Elizabeth II.
Middleton has been seen wearing red, blue, maroon, purple, green, and yellow outfits. She also prefers printed outfits and tend to have conservative fashion choices.
On the other hand, Markle prefers neutral shades like black, white and gray. The Duchess of Sussex rarely wears printed outfits because she prefers solids. In addition, Markle’s fashion is modern compared to Middleton.
