KEY POINTS

  • Kate Middleton has been talking about wanting another baby "for a while now," a report says
  • The Princess of Wales reportedly "managed to twist" husband Prince William's arm about having a fourth child
  • Their pals reportedly "wouldn't be surprised" if the couple makes a baby announcement early next year

Prince William and Kate Middleton may welcome another child in the near future, a report has claimed.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are already parents to three adorable kids — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.

Prince William is content with three kids, but Middleton, who has made mothers, babies and early childhood the focus of her public work, wants to add a fourth child to their brood and may have finally convinced her husband to try for another one, an anonymous source told Us Weekly.

"Kate has been talking about wanting another baby for a while now," the insider claimed. "She has always wanted four children, and while William was originally happy with three, she has managed to twist his arm."

According to the source, the royal couple's friends believe that the heir to the throne may have finally changed his mind about having a fourth child.

"[Their pals] wouldn't be surprised if we'll be hearing an announcement early next year," the insider claimed.

International Business Times could not independently verify the information.

Earlier this year, during a visit to the University of Copenhagen as part of her two-day solo royal tour of Denmark, Middleton confessed to feeling "broody" whenever she's around babies.

"It makes me very broody," the princess was quoted by People as saying during the outing. "William always worries about me meeting under 1-year-olds. I come home saying, 'Let's have another one.'"

Prince William also joked about the prospect of his wife wanting another baby in January during the couple's visit to Lancashire, England.

While taking photos with some families, Middleton held a baby girl, causing onlookers to coo and prompting Prince William to joke, "Don't give my wife any more ideas!"

As the princess handed the baby back to her parents, the Prince of Wales quipped, "Don't take her with you."

Earlier this month, Middleton cuddled a newborn during a trip to the Royal Surrey Country Hospital in England, where she visited the institution's Special Care Baby Unit.

When one mother at the hospital asked the royal if she would like to hold her baby, Middleton reportedly replied, "Am I allowed to?" A staff member then helped the mother hand off the baby to the princess, who was seen looking at the newborn longingly in a photo obtained by Hello! magazine.

During the visit, Middleton also opened up about how fast her children were growing, especially her youngest child Prince Louis, who went viral in June due to his silly antics during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

"I keep thinking Louis is a baby, but he's a big boy now. It just feels like yesterday," the royal said.

Middleton was also reminded of Prince George when she saw a newborn's cozy position.

"George was so huddled up too, he spent quite a few days like that," she shared.
