Kate Middleton is a “confident” mom who makes sure to discipline her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis when they act up, a friend has revealed.
In People's new cover story, a friend of Middleton gave a glimpse into the private world of the Duchess of Cambridge and how she handles her children and home. Describing Middleton as a “chilled” person behind closed doors, the source said Prince William's wife has a normal and busy home life with “no airs and graces.”
“When you see her behind closed doors with the children, she’s a very confident mom, and she’s no pushover. The children get told off if they act up,” the pal said.
When taking her children George, 7, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2, to school, Middleton usually keeps her makeup minimal and hair always tied up in a ponytail. According to her friend, the duchess is mostly in her gym clothes or a dress and sneakers when running errands.
“It’s the life of a working mom with three young children—just a different sort of day job to most,” the insider shared.
Middleton wants her children to have as normal an upbringing as possible, her pal said. “She is doing that to help her children be more grounded and keep their reality in check. That’s what really matters to her,” the source explained.
As part of their weekend routine, Middleton usually takes her three kids to Mable’s Paint Pot, which is close to their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England. There, the kids have a blast picking up sweets and painting pottery.
Aside from taking care of their children, Middleton also makes sure to spend quality time with her husband, Prince William. The royal couple, who will celebrate their 10-year anniversary next year, often visits local bars for their date nights.
One local who spotted Prince William and Middleton during one of their nights out in town said that just like other parents, they were talking about their children and their home. “You were just struck by what a normal lovely couple they are,” the local told People.
The Cambridges also regularly visit the Middletons at Bucklebury when time permits so that the kids get to spend time with their maternal grandparents.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton recently unveiled a new family photo on Twitter, confirming that it was for their Christmas card this year.
"The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new image of their family, which features on their Christmas card this year," their post read.
