Kate Middleton has been described as regal by royal fans. But according to a royal expert, the Duchess of Cambridge is more than just that.

While speaking with People, Queen Elizabeth’s royal biographer, Sally Bedell Smith, said that Prince William’s wife also has poise and is knowledgeable.

“She knew enough, she’d seen enough, and she’d experienced enough, so she was very well aware of what the responsibilities and demands were going to be,” she said.

Middleton also launched her Back to Nature garden project this year, and it quickly garnered positive reviews from royal fans. The mom of three has also been very committed to learning about early childhood, and she has attended several meetings throughout the past year.

Meanwhile, Middleton also made headlines this week after it was reported that she met up with the director of “Love Actually,” Richard Curtis, for a touching reason. The two personalities met to talk about mental health issues, which are important to both of them.

Two years ago, Curtis opened up about the death of his sister due to an apparent suicide. “ I was so privileged and we had so much money and so much access and still couldn’t do anything. I can’t believe what it must be like for someone whose relatives aren't in that situation and they have nothing,” he said.

Middleton has been promoting the importance of mental health ever since she joined the royal family. The issue is also something that’s important to Prince William.

The Duke of Cambridge lost his mom, Princess Diana, following a fatal car crash in Paris in 1997. At that time, the dad of three was still a teenager. Prince Harry was only 12 years old when his mom died.

And during a previous interview with the Telegraph, the Duke of Sussex credited his older brother for encouraging him to seek counseling. Prince Harry has become more vocal about his feelings since then.
