Kate Middleton Pregnancy Confirmed: Duchess Of Cambridge Expecting Second Child, Says Clarence House
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, announced Monday that they are expecting their second child, according to a statement from Clarence House. The announcement of Middleton’s pregnancy comes two months after Prince George, who is third-in-line to the throne, turned one.
The statement from the royal residence in London said that the Queen, members of the royal family and the Middletons are “delighted” with the news. The statement also revealed that the Duchess is facing acute morning sickness known as “Hyperemesis Gravidarum” as her pregnancy is in its early stages. The statement also said that the 32-year-old is being cared for at Kensington Palace.
Prime Minister David Cameron posted a congratulatory message on his Twitter account.
According to reports, the Duchess will no longer accompany her husband, Prince William, for the formal opening of a 21 million pound (about $33 million) center dedicated to the study of China at the Oxford University scheduled for Monday.
It is also not clear if she will go on her first solo overseas tour, to the Mediterranean island of Malta, later this month.
