Kate Middleton, Prince William Attend Children's Global Media Summit In Manchester
Even pregnant, Kate Middleton is not slowing down when it comes to her royal duties.
On Wednesday, Middleton and husband Prince William attended the Children's Global Media Summit in Manchester. The Duke of Cambridge, who is an active advocate of mental health together with his wife, gave a speech about their advocacy, People reported.
The summit brought together delegates from over 30 countries. It also included the big names in media and technology like Apple, Google, Facebook and Twitter. The gathering aimed to inform and redesign the future of media and uncover the impact of digital technology on children.
"We are all here today because we know that childhood matters. Parents like Catherine and me are raising the first generation of digitally-immersed children – and this gives us many reasons to be optimistic about the impact of technology on childhood," Prince William said in his speech.
"What we cannot do, however, is pretend that the impact of digital technology is all positive or, indeed, even understood. Like all of you, I believe firmly in the power of bringing people together, people with knowledge and passion, to tackle big issues confronting our society. That is what I did through the Royal Foundation when we established the Taskforce for the Prevention of Cyberbullying," he added.
For the occasion, Middleton wore an L.K. Bennett coat over a red dress by Goat. She paired it with black tights. Meanwhile, Prince William looked sharp in his suit and white tie.
A day before the children's summit, Middleton and Prince William attended the annual winter party that Queen Elizabeth II hosted. For the event, the Duchess of Cambridge wore the late Princess Diana's favorite tiara, the Queen Mary's Lover's Knot. The royal mom-of-two paired her glamorous head piece with pearl drop earrings and a diamond necklace.
Meanwhile, Middleton went on some solo outings last week as Prince William was in Finland for an official visit. The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Robin Hood Primary School in southwest London and enjoyed gardening with the kids.
"I've got such fond memories of being in the garden and being outside from my own childhood, and I'm sharing that with my own children, George and Charlotte, at the moment," Middleton said.
