Kate Middleton, Prince William In Paris: Best Moments From Couple's Official Visit [PHOTOS]
Prince William, the duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, duchess of Cambridge, concluded a two-day official trip to Paris Saturday. This was their first visit as the royal British couple to the “world’s most romantic city.”
Before the couple’s departure, a Kensington Palace spokesman said on Twitter, “What an incredible two days in Paris! Thank you to everyone who made the visit so memorable. Au revoir for now!”
Prince William and Kate Middleton kicked off their trip to Paris with a visit to the Elysee Palace, for which Kate wore the green coat that she had on for a St Patrick’s Day event in London, earlier in the day, Friday.
At the palace, which is the official resident of the President of France, the couple met with French President Francois Hollande.
Later in the day, William and Kate attended a reception and black tie sit-down dinner at the British Embassy in the city, as the guests of honor. Kate was spotted in two evening gowns for the events. For the reception, she wore a black calf-length Alexander McQueen piece. Kate opted for a ice-blue Jenny Packham gown for the dinner.
On Saturday, the couple started their day with a visit to the Les Invalides military hospital, where they met victims of recent terrorist attacks, as well as some veterans who were being treated at the hospital.
Wearing a Chanel outfit in shades of black, grey and burgundy, paired with block-heeled burgundy Tod shoes, Kate accompanied William to the Musee d'Orsay. The couple reportedly share a love for art and were seen appreciating what is touted as the largest collection of Impressionist masterpieces in the world.
The couple followed their trip to the museum with an interaction with students from the British Council's Somme project and young learners programmes. They were also joined by some local rugby fans.
Prince William and Kate then headed to the Stade de France, to watch the Wales vs France Six Nations match, where they cheered the former. Kate opted for a red Carolina Herrera coat for the event, which resulted in a close victory for host France.
