Kate Middleton and Prince William handle their kids well with the help of some smart parenting hacks.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are parents to three adorable royal babies, 5-year-old Prince George, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and 8-month-old Prince Louis. Prince William and Middleton know how to handle their kids well. Here are some tips for parents from the royal couple.

Talk to children at their level

Middleton has been photographed leaning down to her children's heights when she talks to them. The Duchess of Cambridge does so to look at her children’s eyes directly because this ensures that your kids know they have your complete and undivided attention.

This also allows for better communication. At the same time, it can help foster parents and children “bond.”

Tire out your kids

When you are out and about, your kids can’t help but run around. But don’t be mad if they do. Middleton doesn’t mind if her kids run around.

Back in June, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte watched Prince William’s polo match. The two children were seen running around with their cousin Savannah Philips. Princess Charlotte was in high spirits and was even photographed performing forward rolls and headstands. Middleton tried to tire out her kids, so they would get all of their energy out before they go back to the car and head home.

Let kids play outdoors

During Prince William and Middleton’s visit to Sweden, the duke realized that he needs to be more lenient when it comes to allowing his kids to play outdoors because this has positive effects on their physical and mental health.

Be quick to comfort them

Prince William and Middleton are hands-on parents. Despite being full-time royals, when they are out with their kids, they keep their attention on them.

For instance, when Princess Charlotte fell during the Trooping of Colour in June, Middleton immediately knelt down and comfort her daughter. She held a crying Princess Charlotte until she was feeling fine again.

Encourage them to speak up

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are active advocates of mental health. According to Prince William, they want their kids to be open to them about their emotions.

“Catherine and I are clear that we want both George and Charlotte to grow up feeling able to talk about their emotions and feelings,” Prince William said.
