Tatler has claimed that Kate Middleton and Prince William’s complaint has “no merit.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not hide their disappointment over a report from Tatler about Middleton. The publication quoted unnamed sources claiming that the royal mom of three was exhausted with her workload and was feeling trapped in the palace.

Prince William and Middleton made an unusual move by taking legal action against Tatler for the “string of lies” about Middleton. However, Tatler is not backing down.

According to royal correspondent Emily Andrews and Stephanie Linning for The Mail on Sunday, the magazine confirmed the legal letters from the royal couple but dismissed it by saying that it has “no merit.”

“We can confirm we have received correspondence from lawyers acting for the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge and believe it has no merit,” Tatler said in a statement.

Kensington Palace has issued a statement regarding Tatler’s report and denied it.

“This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication,” its statement read.

Meanwhile, Tatler insisted that they worked with the palace for the said report and they were aware of it.

“Tatler's Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources,” Tatler's spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight.

“Kensington Palace knew we were running the 'Catherine the Great' cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.”

Another insider spoke with Vanity Fair and denied the allegations. In contrast to the report, Middleton was reportedly happy to step up and take on more responsibilities.

“It’s the suggestion that she resents her duty and hard work which has upset her,” the source said.

“She takes her role very seriously and has been working harder than ever. The idea she feels trapped and exhausted simply isn’t the case.”

The insider also added that Middleton is enjoying her time with her family. However, the Duchess of Cambridge is also looking forward to pick up where she left off when they return to office.
