Kate Middleton, Queen Elizabeth ‘Friendly’ Relationship Revisited Amid Solo Outing In London
Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II recently went on their first-ever solo outing in London.
Following their successful engagement, the two royals’ friendly relationship was revisited.
Several years ago, Middleton shared details regarding with her first meeting with Her Majesty and said that it took place in 2008. In her engagement interview, the Duchess of Cambridge said that she met the Queen at the wedding of Peter and Autumn Phillips’ wedding.
“She was very welcoming, she knew it was a big day and everything was going on with Peter and Autumn, she had wanted to meet Kate for a while, so it was very nice for her to come over and say hello, we had a little chat, and got on very well,” Prince William added.
Months after Middleton and Prince William’s royal wedding, the mom of three revealed that the monarch admired her Alexander McQueen wedding gown. A year later, the two female royals went on their first tour in Leicester. And in the same year, the Queen and Middleton were once again spotted together during a visit to Nottingham.
In 2016, Middleton gushed over Her Majesty on ITV’s documentary to commemorate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Prince William’s wife said that she was so worried about giving the Queen a Christmas present because she already has everything.
“And I thought, ‘I’ll make her something,’ which could have gone horribly wrong. But I decided to make my granny’s recipe of chutney. I was slightly worried about it, but I noticed the next day that it was on the table… I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me,” she said.
The Queen and Middleton joined forces on Tuesday to open the Bush House, which is the newest education and learning facility on the university’s Strand Campus.
Her Majesty looked stunning in her pink Stewart Parvin cashmere coat and skirt, and Middleton wore a gray Catherine Walker coat dress.
