Kate Middleton Is Queen Elizabeth's Rock, Monarch Proud To Be Duchess’ Adviser, Source Says

Kate Middleton has served as a dependable ally to the Queen while Her Majesty has become the Duchess of Cambridge's go-to advisor, according to a source.

Middleton and the monarch have become closer than ever amid the pandemic. The Queen realized that she can depend on Prince William's wife to keep things running smoothly from Kensington Palace, a source said.

"These are strange times for everyone, senior royals included, and having Kate as her rock has made it so much easier for the queen to adapt to her new life at Windsor," the insider told Us Weekly.

"More than anything, knowing she can rely on Kate and Prince William to handle matters in her absence is the greatest comfort she could ask for."

The source added that the Queen trusts the Cambridges. Also, Middleton asks for the Queen's advice whenever she needs to deliver a speech and Her Majesty is more than willing to help.

“Her Majesty sees the Cambridges as the future of the monarchy and trusts Kate and William’s judgment implicitly,” the source added.

“Kate asks for advice about speeches she’s due to make, whom she can depend on most within the palace and protocol dos and don’ts. The queen’s more than happy to impart her wisdom — she’s proud to be Catherine’s go-to adviser about royal life.”

Aside from the Queen, Prince William is also impressed with his wife. The Duke of Cambridge is relieved to have Middleton as someone he can depend on and even refers to her as his "better half," the source added.

Also, Prince William and Middleton approach things similarly. They share the "keep calm and carry on" mentality and focus on the positive side when things get tough.

"Kate’s a genius at stepping back, breathing deeply and then approaching any difficulty with a level head,” the source concluded .

Meanwhile, another source said that the Queen finds the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's lack of drama refreshing. The tipster added that the Queen adores Middleton and has been relegating more duties to the Cambridges than Prince Charles.

“Queen Elizabeth finds it refreshing that there’s never any drama or scandal surrounding Kate and William. In her eyes, they’re the perfect suitors for the position. She adores Kate,” the source said.
