Kate Middleton recently received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at London’s Science Museum.
The mom of four announced the news on the official social media accounts of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Saturday morning. She took the jab Friday.
“Yesterday I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at London’s Science Museum. I’m hugely grateful to everyone who is playing a part in the rollout – thank you for everything you are doing,” Kate wrote.
In a photo she shared on Instagram, the wife of Prince William sported a casual top and a pair of jeans to receive the shot.
The Duke of Cambridge, who contracted COVID-19 last year, also got his first dose of the vaccine earlier this month. His father, Prince Charles, was also infected with the virus.
Unlike the Prince of Wales, William did not give details of his illness as he was “concerned it would cause further public alarm.”
Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall, have already received their COVID-19 vaccinations. Queen Elizabeth II also received her second dose in March before her very first public appearance this year.
Meanwhile, Kate received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine days after her successful trip to Scotland with Prince William. The Cambridge couple visited numerous charitable organizations targeting societal issues such as sustainability, addiction, mental health, and homelessness.
Kate and William even visited St. Andrews University, where they first met 20 years ago. They also had a chance to talk to some students from the said academic institution to talk about their experiences during the pandemic.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also went to the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit on May 24. Kate even tried her hand at mixing beats, to which Prince William said, “it’s hurting my ears.”
The trip also included Kate and William visiting a tidal energy turbine, wherein they were also given an opportunity to speak with the Orbital turbine’s CEO, Andy Scott. The royal couple also tossed cups of whiskey as a way of “blessing” the Orbital turbine.
On May 25, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to The Balfour, Orkney Hospital for its official opening. The pair even spoke with NHS workers while at the hospital.
