Kate Middleton is replaced by Princess Diana in an edited royal wedding photo with Prince William.

A snap of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their big day was shared on Instagram. In the photo, Middleton is removed and is replaced by her late mother-in-law.

The Princess of Wales appears like a ghost at Prince William’s back. The post garnered different reactions from royal followers.

“This would be just creepy if Kate was not removed from the picture. But with her taken out it is sickening and very inappropriate, imo,” one wrote.

Another said that the edited photo was “scary.” However, some found the photo “beautiful” and “nice.”

“To me it looks like Prince William is looking up to Heaven to see a sign that his MOM is there or near and is talking to her and including her in his thoughts,” another user commented.

The netizen pointed out that it’s not Prince William alone who is looking above, the two girls are also looking up. However, he believes that a photo with the bride, Middleton, and Princess Diana between the couple will be more beautiful, for it will appear as though the People’s Princess is giving them her blessing.

“Its not scary or spooky or sickening or inappropriate at all. They included his mom in the ceremony and days events of a young man and Prince that is still getting over the death of his mother as we all are,” the same user added.

Royal fans love to edit photos or make artworks with Princess Diana and the younger royals. In another edited photo, Princess Diana can be seen in the same frame as Middleton and Princess Charlotte.

In the shot, the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Diana sit together while Middleton attends to her daughter. Meanwhile, Princess Diana is smiling while looking at another direction.

Many find the photo beautiful but at the same it makes them sad because it reminded them of Prince William and Prince Harry’s late mother. Some believed that it’s creepy and wrong to bring back Princess Diana in that way.

“I think sometimes you should stop doing theses pictures as nobody will ever forget Lady Diana,” one royal fan wrote before adding that the late Princess of Wales will always be with them.
