Kate Middleton paid respect to her royal in-laws as she celebrated the success of her second annual Christmas concert this week.
The Princess of Wales was joined by her husband Prince William and their children Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, for the special event at Westminster Abbey in London Thursday. King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla also attended the "Royal Carols: Together at Christmas" taping.
While greeting her in-laws, Middleton performed a curtsy as a sign of respect to the King and Queen Consort in a moment that was captured on camera, People reported.
In footage shared on Instagram by the fan account TeaTimeWithTheWales, the Princess of Wales greeted King Charles with a kiss on both cheeks before she dropped her left leg back for a curtsy. Middleton did the same as she said hello to Queen Consort Camilla.
The King and Queen Consort were also seen hugging and giving Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince William kisses on their cheeks before they parted ways.
Other royal family members were present at the holiday bash, including Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall and their husbands.
Royal fans praised the show of royal family unity during the event, which took place on the same day the final three episodes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" were dropped.
Many were particularly pleased with how smooth Middleton's curtsy was.
"Now that's how one does a curtsy!" one online user commented. Another added, "Her curtsy is so natural!"
"Catherine does the curtsies like a boss. Bless her and her family," a third fan wrote.
"Of course, Kate gave the perfect curtsy...she's the perfect woman," a different netizen opined.
"Love how hugs and kisses came before a curtsy. Prayers to the King and his family. This year will be a tough one for them, being the first without the Queen," another user wrote.
In their docuseries, Prince Harry and Markle spoke about the California native's introduction to royal life. The Duchess of Sussex recalled the "surreal" experience of meeting Queen Elizabeth II for the first time in 2017, with the Duke of Sussex teasing that the big day "was a bit of a shock to the system" for his now-wife.
"I remember being in the car and he was like, 'You know how to curtsy, right?' and I just thought it was a joke," Markle confessed in the second episode. "Americans will understand this, we have Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. It was like that. Like, I curtsied as if I was [bowing down to the floor]. 'Pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty.'"
Markle's exaggerated bow sparked a backlash among royal fans and pundits, with some accusing the former "Suits" star of mocking the Queen and royal protocol.
The senior members of the royal family have not publicly responded to the claims made by Prince Harry and Markle in the docuseries.
In the first episode, a disclaimer appeared on the screen: "Members of the Royal Family declined to comment on the content within this series."
However, multiple outlets, including People and Us Weekly, later reported, citing unnamed palace sources, that Buckingham Palace was not approached for comment regarding the content of the series.
All six episodes of "Harry & Meghan" currently streams on Netflix.
