Kate Middleton had her second tiara moment of the year at a palace reception this week.
Days after she and Prince Willliam returned from Boston, Massachusetts, the Princess of Wales joined the Prince of Wales, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla at Buckingham Palace Tuesday evening for the Diplomatic Reception. The event is held each year, with the royals welcoming hundreds of members of the Diplomatic Corps to the palace's State Rooms, but there was no gathering in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Middleton looked regal in a sparkling scarlet, long-sleeve evening gown by her go-to designer Jenny Packham. She also wore Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Family Order badge and the sash and star of the Royal Victorian Order, which were personal gifts from Her Majesty, E! News reported.
Middleton accessorized her gown with diamond frame earrings and a diamond Art Deco brooch. She completed her look with the Lotus Flower Tiara, sometimes also called the "Papyrus Tiara," which originally belonged to King Charles' grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
The Queen Mother created the Lotus Flower Tiara out of a necklace that was a wedding gift from her husband, King George VI, according to The Court Jeweller. Their daughter Princess Margaret later wore the piece. Margaret loaned the piece to Serena Stanhope when Serena married the princess' son in 1993.
Royal fans praised Middleton's look for the event, with one even describing her photos as "iconic art."
"Every image of Catherine, the Princess of Wales, is iconic art. These images of her and her Prince are historic and will endure for centuries," the Twitter user wrote.
"Princess Catherine is regal and elegant. I can't wait to see her in a crown. She is a true Royal Highness," another added.
"Catherine is worthy of wearing a crown [clapping hand emojis]... Amazing," another fan commented with a red heart emoji.
The Diplomatic Corps reception came four days after the Prince and Princess of Wales wrapped up their three-day visit to Boston, which culminated with the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony at the MGM Music Hall.
The reception marked Middleton's second time wearing a tiara this year.
Last month, the future queen consort dazzled at King Charles' first state banquet as monarch at Buckingham Palace, wearing a white caped gown by Jenny Packham with silver embellishments on the shoulders and the Lover's Knot tiara.
Middleton also accessorized her outfit with pearl drop earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana and a triple-stranded pearl and diamond bracelet from Queen Elizabeth II's jewelry collection.
The Lover's Knot tiara was a favorite of Princess Diana's. Middleton also wore the headpiece with pears hanging from diamond knots to the December 2019 Diplomatic Corps reception.
