Kate Middleton made a new style statement Tuesday when she stepped out in Marchesa Notte's Honeycomb cap sleeve A-line dress. The Duchess of Cambridge attended the opening of the musical "42nd Street" at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

Middleton's red dress featured an illusion neckline and concealed back zipper, and the duchess teamed it with a jeweled belt, maroon heels and a clutch bag. The dress is worth $1,195 at Saks Fifth Avenue in the U.S., E! Online reported. Middleton wore her hair loose and completed her look with Kate Spade earrings.

The event Tuesday night was aimed at raising funds for the East Anglia Children's Hospice (EACH), of which Middleton has been a patron since 2012. The charity hopes to raise $520,000 toward its $14 million "Nook Appeal" for a new hospice in Norfolk.

On Wednesday, the Kensington Palace announced that Middleton, along with princes William and Harry, will visit the site of the Westminster terror attack. Three people were killed and nearly 50 others injured after an attacker drove a car into pedestrians on the pavement.

Middleton and Prince William increased their royal duties this year after Queen Elizabeth II fell ill following a bad cold. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also moving to London from Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Late last month, the palace said Middleton and Prince William's son, Prince George, will be attending Thomas's School in Battersea this fall.

"This is clearly a significant moment for their family and most certainly for Thomas's. Like so many parents, the Duke and Duchess have put a great deal of thought into the choice of their eldest child's first 'big school,'" headmaster Ben Thomas wrote in a letter to parents shared in the English press. "They would like, as far as is possible, for him to enjoy the same education that all of our pupils receive and for them to join the school community as all of our new parents do."
