Kate Middleton Surprises Shoppers At This Discount Store Buying Christmas Gifts

Kate Middleton surprised shoppers and royal fans at discount store The Range when she popped up at an outlet to buy Christmas gifts.

The Duchess of Cambridge has a handful of staff that could help her buy Christmas presents for her family and loved ones, but she opted to do the errand herself. She was photographed checking out at a counter without any companion.

A fellow shopper revealed that Middleton purchased trolley-loads of pictures, children’s books and artist materials. She also waited for her turn to pay for the items and didn’t receive any special treatment. It is possible that the gifts that the mom of three purchased will be given to some of her chosen charities.

“I did a double-take when I saw her. You don’t expect to see royals shopping at The Range,” one of the shoppers told The Sun.

The shopper said that she only realized that it was Middleton when she saw Prince George and Princess Charlotte with her. However, the royal youngsters were not photographed during their recent outing.

“Their protection officers were keeping a discreet distance so they looked like any other family grabbing last-minute Christmas bargains,” the source said.

The fellow mom also tried her luck by asking Middleton if she would take a selfie with her, but the Duchess of Cambridge politely declined. Middleton even explained to the fellow shopper that she was just doing a little Christmas shopping.

In related news, Middleton also made headlines this week after it was reported that Queen Elizabeth II used to think “negatively” of Prince William’s wife. Royal author Philip Dampier told Express that Her Majesty used to think Middleton wasn’t doing enough for the royal family.

Dampier said that there was a phase wherein Middleton really didn’t do a lot even though she had 8 or 9 years before marrying into the British clan. However, the royal author said that Prince William might not have wanted to bring Middleton into the spotlight because of Princess Diana.

The late Princess of Wales was hounded by the press, and Prince William didn’t want the same thing for his wife.
