Kate Middleton Takes Style Cue From Meghan Markle, Carries Chanel Bag
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle seem to be huge fans of each other.
During Middleton’s last day in Sweden, the Duchess of Cambridge was photographed carrying a Chanel clutch bag. Middleton does not normally carry a clutch during her official tours, but she did so this time.
According to People, the mom-of-two took a style cue from her future sister-in-law. Markle typically carries a bag during all of her official visits. In fact, she even has a bag handler who carries the bag for her when she’s taking photographs with heads and leaders.
The publication noted that Middleton even carried a similar-sized bag just like Markle’s. On Tuesday, she was already seen with her Mulberry bag. Markle once used a bag from the same designer during her one of her official tours with Prince Harry. On Wednesday, Middleton used her red Chanel bag with a patterned gold and red enamel handle.
But other than their similar tastes in bags, Middleton and Markle seem to have different tastes in clothing – most of the time. During Middleton and Prince William’s final day in Sweden, the 36-year-old wore a dress by Erdem.
Middleton’s taste in clothes is more similar with Princess Diana’s fashion. Also on Wedneday she wore a black, red, and white houndstooth coat that was very similar with Princess Diana’s houndstooth Moschino suit from the 1990s. And on Tuesday, Middleton accessorized herself with a pearl bracelet and a pair of earrings that belonged to the late princess, according to Vanity Fair.
Markle’s taste in clothes, on the other hand, appears to be more hip and modern. Prince Harry’s fiancée has also broken royal tradition of wearing a dress during official visits. When she went to Cardiff, Wales two weeks ago, Markle wore black pants.
Meanwhile, Middleton and Prince William will head to Norway on Thursday for the final leg of their tour. They will be staying at the royal palace of King Harald and Queen Sonja. Markle is currently in London, while Prince Harry is in Botswana for an official visit.
