Kate Middleton was recently accused of trying to one-up Meghan Markle.

On Christmas Eve, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their e-card to celebrate the occasion. The photo shows Archie crawling towards the camera while his parents look on.

Following the release of the e-card, Prince Harry and Markle were accused of photoshopping themselves in the photo. On Twitter, some netizens came to the royal couple’s defense.

“Now, Harry and Meghan can’t even do a doggone Christmas card without Will and Kate trying to one-up them and not be outdone. I really hope Harry and Meghan decide to move on as private citizens,” Twitter user @ICTheLyte said.

“To be expected from bitter, twisted, bigoted, and deranged people like Hopkins with an agenda for conflict, division, and hate! What a wonderful present from Meghan, Harry, and their beautiful Archie with their fabulous family Christmas card! Now, that is worthy news! We are united,” Twitter user @TwadeePutther said.

“If Meghan gets hammered for cradling her baby bump while pregnant then Kate should have as well but she only gets praised to high heaven for it. If Meghan and Harry get hammered for the cost to renovate their cottage then why weren’t William and Kate hammered for renovations?” Twitter user @ortonheart said.

“Treat Meghan & Harry with the same respect and consideration you give William and Kate then some of us wouldn’t care. Until then we will keep highlighting the double standards. Hell broke loose coz H&M spent Christmas with their mom while William being praised for doing the same thing,” Twitter user @kiskama1 said.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle were praised for breaking away from royal tradition. Other than celebrating Christmas in Canada, the couple also released a monochromatic e-card. They also skipped the royal family’s annual Christmas church service.

Bev Koffel, co-owner of a restaurant in North Saanich said that she saw the Sussexes jogging around in the area.

“They’re breaking away from tradition and I just wish them all the best,” she said.
