Kate Middleton Wearing Blue In Family Christmas Card Is Likely Not A Gender Hint
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released their official Christmas card and their choice of ensemble is likely to have fans of the royal family talking.
In the photo released by Kensington Place on Monday, Prince William and Kate Middleton can be seen standing behind their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. In the image all four members of the Windsor clan are sporting blue.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family. The image features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year,” the palace said in a statement.
While the color blue may be seen as a hint of her and William’s third baby’s gender, which is due this spring, fans will be disappointed to learn the color choice is likely just a coincidence.
As reported by People, the image was taken by photographer Chris Jackson at Kensington Palace, and could have been shot as early as this summer. The magazine noted that the Christmas image shows Prince George wearing the same outfit he was sporting during fourth birthday photo session with Jackson in June. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not confirm they were expecting baby No. 3 until September.
For every pregnancy thus far, fans of the British royal family have questioned Kate’s fashion choices and wondered if they were secret hints about her and Prince William’s children’s genders. While it remains to be seen if that’s true, what is known is that the couple has a history of keeping their baby’s genders a secret until after their birth.
It looks like fans will have to wait until this spring to find out if the couple is welcoming another prince or princess.
