Kate Middleton and Prince William will have new titles when Prince Charles takes over the throne.

According to royal expert Marlene Koenig, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also be the new Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. Thus, Prince William may be called HRH The Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge. On the other hand, Middleton will be HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge.

The couple's three children, 5-year-old Prince George, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and 3-month-old Prince Louis, will also inherit the title and would be "of Cornwall and Cambridge."

Aside from this, it was reported earlier that Prince William and Middleton would be the next Prince and Princess of Wales. This honor is given to the second-in-line to the throne. As a result, when Prince Charles becomes the new king, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will assume the title.

Camilla is technically the Princess of Wales too. However, she declined the use the title as it is heavily associated with Princess Diana. Camilla prefers to be called Duchess of Cornwall.

Camilla is expected to be the queen consort when Prince Charles becomes the king. According to Hello!'s royal correspondent Emily Nash, based on the legal precedent, the current Duchess of Cornwall will be queen even if it was announced earlier that she would only be addressed as princess consort.

"According to legal precedent, as wife of the monarch she will be Queen Consort, even if she styles herself as Princess Consort instead – just as she is technically now the Princess of Wales but has never used the title," Nash explained.

"At the time of her 2005 wedding to Prince Charles, Clarence House said the Duchess of Cornwall would be known as Princess Consort when her husband became King. Memories of his divorce and the tragic death of Princess Diana meant the public were not receptive to the idea of her becoming Queen at that time. There is nothing to suggest that the plan has changed, although many royal watchers are convinced that the Prince of Wales wants his wife to be Queen alongside him when he is crowned."

In related news, Prince William and Middleton missed a friend's wedding on Saturday. The couple was last seen together in a vacation in Mustique dancing in a party. They reportedly arrived in the private island with their three children and Middleton's parents.
