Kate Middleton Won’t ‘Modernize,’ ‘Change’ Monarchy As Queen But Will Do This
Kate Middleton will be crowned as queen when Prince William ascends throne and becomes the head of the monarchy.
But unlike Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and the other royals who came before her, the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t expected to modernize or change the monarchy.
While speaking with Express, body language expert Judi James said that Prince William’s wife will have a different role to play in the British monarchy when she becomes queen. “Her roles as wife and mother seem dominant, unlike some of the royal women who excel in other careers, and I’d imagine her focusing on the very traditional path of charity work but without any of the staunch campaigning or ground-breaking and often controversial paths taken by Diana before her. The royals have been in one crisis or another for two generations now and Kate should be the ideal influencer for calm and stability again,” she said.
James also said that Middleton’s style as queen will pretty much depend on what the royal fans want and expect from her. As of late, the mom of three has not stepped out of bounds in terms of her role as a royal.
“Her styling and her body language are impeccable and – in a world where royals, like celebrities, are chopped down to size on a regular basis – she appears able to avoid anything other than petty criticism. We see very little if any displays of emotions other than positive ones from her in public and, with their touch rituals at a minimum, we are shown little if any glimpses into her relationship with William other than the happy, positive and loving traits,” James said.
Throughout the years, Middleton’s role has also grown slowly and carefully. She is now being regarded as a rule keeper who could evolve into a rule-enforcer once she becomes queen. After she takes over the important role, the Duchess of Cambridge is also expected to act as a mediator in the royal family.
