Kate Middleton’s Children May Never Have Close Bond With Meghan Markle’s Baby

Although Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is one of the heirs to the British throne, his mother has every intention of making sure her child is familiar with his American roots.

Unlike his cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Archie isn’t expected to dominate the royal spotlight. According to a source, Meghan wants her son to have a normal upbringing, which means he may not have the chance to develop a close bond with his cousins.

An insider told Us Weekly, Meghan plans on taking a trip America so Archie can learn to appreciate his mother’s upbringing in Los Angeles, as well as his father’s life in the UK.

“For Meghan, it’s just as important for Archie to learn about her family history as it is for him to learn about his royal ancestors, so she plans to go on a trip to L.A. with him once she’s comfortable taking him on a plane,” the source explained.

Since Meghan married Prince Harry in 2018, the 37-year-old has had a habit of breaking royal protocol and straying from tradition. According to the insider, Meghan will most likely continue to break the rules in order to protect her values. “Meghan likes to do things her way,” the source revealed.

“She’s a very strong woman who wants to use her role to modernize the monarchy, which is one of the reasons she and Harry decided to reject a title for Archie. [She and Prince Harry] want their son to lead a normal life,” the tipster added.

The couple has already begun to distance themselves from Kate and Prince William by relocating from Kensington Palace to Frogmore House in Windsor. Meghan and Harry reportedly tried to separate their communication offices from Buckingham Palace but their request was denied by Queen Elizabeth.

Meghan is currently on maternity leave from her royal duties after giving birth to Archie on May 6. While an official statement about her return has not been released, the Duchess of Sussex is expected to begin making public appearances in June, when Queen Elizabeth begins her birthday celebrations.
