Apparently, being a royal comes with a few disadvantages. Last July, it was revealed that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is unable to do at least one activity she enjoys due to her royal status.

During an appearance on “Loose Women” in July 2018, Bryony Gordon, a friend of Middleton, revealed that due to safety concerns, Kate Middleton is not allowed to run in marathons. According to Gordon, as reported by Express, it’s a “security” issue for the mother-of-three to do so.

Gordon said that when she asked Middleton if she would be participating in the London Marathon, she told her, “Oh no, security and all that." Gordon claims to have responded, stating, "If I can do the marathon, you can."

Middleton, did, however, pay a visit to the London-based marathon in 2017 when she, husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry’s mental health charity Heads Together was the event's chosen charity of that year's race, reports Hello. Photos from the outing show the Duchess of Cambridge handing out water to racers, cheering on participants, and handing out medals to finishers.

Earlier this month, Us Weekly revealed Middleton’s daily schedule and noted that she spends each morning exercising.

“Every morning Kate gets up with the sunrise to jog around Kensington Palace or heads over to Buckingham Palace to swim before the children wake,” a source told the magazine at the time. According to the outlet, the royal finds time for exercise because she feels its “crucial to her mental well-being.”
