Kate Middleton’s Future As Queen Consort Not As Complicated As Camilla Parker-Bowles’

Kate Middleton will surely be a Queen Consort, but things are a little complicated for Camilla Parker-Bowles’ case.

According to Cosmopolitan, there are two types of Queens in England, Queen regnant and Queen Consort. Middleton will receive the latter title when Prince William becomes the crowned king. Queen Consort is used for women married to male monarchs, so basically, the Duchess of Cornwall is also entitled to it.

Middleton’s future as a Queen Consort is not as complicated as Camilla’s. The publication wrote that the Duchess of Cambridge is “almost 100 percent destined for an upgrade, so get used to calling her Queen Catherine.”

However, while many are sure that Middleton will become Queen when the Duke of Cambridge takes over the throne, there are confusions about Camilla’s future title when the Prince of Wales takes over the monarchy from Queen Elizabeth II.

Camilla is Prince Charles’s second wife. The future king was first married to Princess Diana. Following the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall’s wedding in 2005, the Clarence House released a statement announcing that Camilla would go by the title HRH The Princess Consort when the time comes for Prince Charles to accede to the throne.

However, Clarence House deleted this statement from its official website in 2018. Fans were in hysterics as they were still not ready for Camilla to be the next Queen.

While some are still hesitant about Camilla becoming a Queen Consort, some royal experts believe that there’s no other title for her when Prince Charles becomes King but to be the Queen. According to Robert Jobson, something needs to be changed in the law for Camilla not to be Queen.

“She will be Queen Consort if he becomes the King, there is no question about that,” the royal expert said. “She will be Queen Consort unless there is a change in the law.

Royal expert Joe Little shared the same opinion. According to him, Prince Charles will definitely make way for Camilla to be Queen because he wants his wife to reflect his title.
