Kate Middleton’s Mom Carole Shares Thoughts On Gender Transitioning: ‘It’s Hard’
Kate Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton, just shared her thoughts on gender transitioning.
While speaking with The Telegraph, the mom of three said that it would be hard if any of her kids told her that they wanted to transition. “That would be challenging. But as a parent you love your children unconditionally,” she said (via Daily Star).
During the same interview, Carole also revealed that she has stopped reading articles about her after she once saw a story claiming that she’s a “pushy parent.” At first, the grandmother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis read stories about herself because she wanted to know what people thought.
“But it doesn’t make any difference. I’m not really sure how I’m perceived now,” she said.
In related news, Carole also revealed what her biggest fear was and that’s to lose her children as they got older. Luckily for her, she is still very close to all three of her kids.
“My biggest fear was that I’d lose my family, but we’ve stayed close. There are times when they say, ‘Can you do this or that?’ and I can’t quit. But they like the fact that I work. I have two lovely sons-in-law and I hope I’ll have a lovely daughter-in-law,” she said.
Carole also talked about the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding to Prince William in 2011 and revealed that she was very hands-on during their planning stage. She was also hands-on with Pippa Middleton’s nuptials to James Matthews. And even though she’s the grandmother of the future King, Prince George, Carole said that she wants to keep thing as normal as possible for her grandchildren.
“I have two other grandchildren and my job, and I lead a lot of life around here, where I’ve lived for years and people knew me before Catherine’s… impact. It isn’t normal maybe to go to Louis’ christening or Catherine’s wedding, but in the end, they’re all family events,” she said (via Cosmopolitan).
