Kate Moss seemed not her usual self while presenting an award at the Wall Street Journal Magazine Innovator Awards last week.
The 48-year-old supermodel presented Saint Laurent (YSL) creative/image director Anthony Vaccarello with the title of 2022 Fashion Innovator at the event held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Nov. 2.
However, new footage of Moss from the event sparked concern online because she appeared out of sorts while giving a gushing speech about her longtime pal, Page Six reported.
Moss, who looked gorgeous in a sheer, deep chartreuse ensemble, seemed jittery and clutched onto the podium as she slurred some of her words.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen," she began while looking at her phone.
"Anthony and I have worked together for — years," she continued, pausing at odd times during her speech. "Since he started at Saint Laurent, I could recognize his instinct for fashion. And — I wanted to be part of that. I'm honored to be part of his Saint Laurent family and to be his friend."
Moss then stumbled over the name of the event's most prestigious honor as she said, "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm honored to present Anthony Vaccarello with the — Innovator of the h–award."
Twitter users expressed concern over Moss' behavior, with some describing the moment as "creepy" and "excruciating" to watch.
"She's clearly on drugs," one Twitter user alleged.
"She is drunk and high. She is slurring. She didn't sound like that and wasn't unsteady on the trial cam," another wrote.
"She looks like a completely different person," another tweeted.
"She's loopy and clearly on something. Kids, don't do drugs!" a fourth user claimed.
Others praised Moss and defended her from those criticizing her appearance.
"She looks good. It's called aging naturally. Something you will one day do as well," one wrote.
"She's almost 50, does it really matter?" another added.
"Kate Moss still looks fabulous today. Those who criticize better look upon themselves first," a third person said.
Moss has not yet publicly addressed the speculations about her behavior at the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards.
The model was once at the center of a cocaine scandal after being photographed snorting the substance in 2005. But Moss has reportedly been clean and sober for the past four years.
Earlier this year, Moss testified for her ex Johnny Depp during his six-week defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard in Virginia. The British model denied claims that the actor pushed her down the stairs while they were dating.
Moss said she slipped on the staircase and injured her back during a vacation the then-couple took in Jamaica. Depp rushed to help her, carried her to her room and summoned medical services.
"I screamed because I didn't know what happened to me and I was in pain. He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention," the model said under oath, People reported. "He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs."
