'Kate Plus 8' Canceled, Gosselin Optimistic
TLC announced on Monday that it has cancelled "Kate Plus 8."
"We've had a great run!" Gosselin wrote on Twitter. "Six years of whirlwind fun-filled adventures thanks to TLC and our many, many supportive and diehard fans."
The reality series starred Kate Gosselin as the mother of eight kids and revolved around her day-to-day life. Originally called "Jon & Kate Plus 8", Kate's ex-husband Jon was taken out of the series and out of the title after their divorce in 2009.
TLC made note that the series will reach its 150 episode mark and stated that there may possibly be television specials in the future featuring the family.
She continued, "While it is very sad for me and the kids (there were many tears at the breakfast table this morning!), we are looking forward with great anticipation to our bright future!"
Gosselin says that she hopes to write another book and to continue as a motivational speaker. She also mentioned a possibility of returning to dating.
She ended her tweets saying: "We wish our fans well. And remember, this is not 'goodbye'.I prefer to say 'See you around!'"
The last episode of "Kate Plus 8" will air Sept. 19 on TLC.
