Kate Upton Ties The Knot With Justin Verlander In Italy
Kate Upton recently tied the knot with Justin Verlander in Italy just days after his World Series win.
The 25-year-old supermodel and the professional pitcher started dating in 2014. Last year, Verlander proposed to his then-girlfriend right before the baseball season began. However, it was only at the Met Gala 2016 that they confirmed they were engaged, according to People.
During the ceremony, Upton was spotted wearing a long-sleeve white lace gown paired with a long veil. Verlander, on the other hand, wore a black tuxedo. Prior to their special day, Upton opened up to People Now about her wedding plans earlier this year.
According to the supermodel, her and Verlander’s special day will be packed with “fun, party, tequila and food.” “We haven’t done any details. We are getting married, but it’s really hard. Everyone’s always like, invite whoever you want, do whatever you want, don’t feel bad about it, but you feel bad!” she said.
At that time, the Sports Illustrated model also dished on her honeymoon plans and said that she wants to go on a safari trip. “I want to go on a safari for the honeymoon so bad, but he’s not… I don’t know. Every year I tell him I want to go on a safari and every year for a gift he’ll get me like a stuffed animal tiger. Or like flowers from Africa, not the same. Like you want to go to the zoo?” she said.
As for having children, Upton and Verlander definitely want to have one in the near future. “We definitely want kids, but hopefully not anytime soon, but of course, you know, oopsies happen,” she said.
Meanwhile, Upton also opened up about finding the perfect wedding dress for her special day. Luckily, she said that her fiancé would love to see her in anything. “Justin is so supportive and I don’t think he would honestly have a strong opinion in that way. He’s a lover, not a judger,” she told People back in May.
