English soccer superstar David Beckham has been in the news lately, with rumors that he is cheating on his wife.

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins is the reported mistress of Beckham, who is currently married to Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice of the Spice Girls.

Jenkins has denied having an affair with the L.A. Galaxy star.

"Dear Twitter friends, I've read some horrible rumours on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I've had an affair with David Beckham," she tweeted. "The rumours are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable."

Jenkins reportedly received death threats when rumors spread that she was in a relationship with Beckham. She was engaged to Welsh television personality Gethin Jones, but the couple broke up last year.

The singer may be best known for her appearance on "Dancing with the Stars." She competed in season 14 of the show, finishing in second place with partner Mark Ballas.

While Jenkins claims she was forced to deny the affair, others have mocked her for denying the speculation, when many people didn't even know about it. She may have spread the rumor, herself, by mentioning the alleged relationship.

Singer Lily Allen had some fun with Jenkins, sending out her own tweet.

"I'm really upset at the hurtful rumours going round about me having an affair with Jay Z," she tweeted. "My lawyers tell me they are actionable. I've met him twice, once at the spotted pig in New York and once at the wireless festival. We have never been alone together etc etc."
