Katie Holmes Dating Jason Segel? Actress Denies ‘HIMYM’ Star Is Her New Boyfriend

With the “How I Met Your Mother” series officially wrapped, it appears TV star Jason Segel is now focusing on his love life.

According to a report from Star Magazine, 35-year-old actress Katie Holmes and Segel, 34, are Hollywood’s newest couple. While the acting duo, who coincidentally appeared side-by-side during Holmes’ guest appearance on “HIMYM” in October 2011, have yet to be photographed together, the tabloid claims they are “getting close.”

“[Katie] is so smitten that she thinks he may be The One,” an insider revealed to the gossip magazine, according to a report from CelebDirtyLaundry.com.

According to the magazine, Holmes has even introduced her rumored new boyfriend to her daughter she shares with her ex-husband of five-years, actor Tom Cruise. “[Jason] already bonded with Katie’s 8-year-old daughter Suri,” an unidentified friend of Holmes said, later adding that Segel is even considering relocating to New York to be closer to his alleged new leading lady.

Despite reports of a burgeoning new A-list affair, a rep for Holmes has since denied the report. “The story is completely true,” Holmes’ publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed to Us Weekly Wednesday. “The two have not spoken since she appeared on ‘How I Met Your Mother.’”

Gossip Cop reconfirmed Us Weekly’s report, adding that claims of a Holmes/Segel romance are "a bit premature" and completely unfounded, reporting that “Holmes and Segel are not even dating.”

Holmes was last rumored to be seeing Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx. Following their summer 2013 Hamptons, N.Y., outing, sources claimed that the “Django Unchained“ star and the former “Dawson’s Creek” TV actress were secretly an item. While Foxx, 46, has since denied the dating rumors, calling them “hilarious,” a source revealed to OK! Magazine in February that the pair’s romance is Hollywood’s “worst kept secret.” “Everyone wants them to just come out!” said an insider.

Segel last dated 33-year-old “Blue Valentine" actress Michelle Williams. The couple called it quits after one year of dating in February 2013, citing their long-distance relationship as the cause of the split.

Holmes was previously married to “Mission: Impossible“ star Tom Cruise, 51. The pair divorced after five-years of marriage in 2012.
